What’s New With COBRA Show Creator?

We have many new features and improvements in the works for future releases. We would like to share some new features that were released in an update today, and some that will be arriving in coming updates.

New My Shows Section

We have introduced a new way to create, import, open, and duplicate shows in CSC. The New Show, Open Show, and Import Show buttons in the left sidebar have been combined into a new My Shows button. Easily create a new show or import a show by using the New and Import button sin the top right of the My Shows section. Your shows will be displayied on the left side of the My Shows section. You can easily search through your list of shows uing the search bar at the top of the My Shows section. Once you find the show you would like to open, you can either click on the row and use the Open Show button or double click on the row to open the show right away. The list of your shows will include detailed information on each show. Some of the details that are displayed include the show date, number of cues, and if the show uses audio. Once a show is selected, a detailed view will display on the right side of the My Shows section. This view will show details such as the audio file name used, what custom columns are used, ect. In the detailed view of a show, there are 4 buttons, a Open, Duplicate, Download, and Delete Show. The duplicate button will create a exact replica of the show and open the new show. The download button will alow you to download the show. This is not a exported version of the show and will not work to run on an 18R2.

My Fireworks Improvements

We have introduced a new “View My Firework” context option when right clicking on a event that has a My Firework inserted. This new option allows for a quick and easy way to view and edit the firework’s data, videos, and images. Once clicked, a window will open to that fireworks My Fireworks page.

There is also a new way to indicate how many of the same My Fireworks you have inserted in to your show. When a event is selected that is assoisated with a My Firework, all other events with that same My Firework will be highlighted with a light red color in the Firework Name column.

New What’s New in BETA Section

We have introduced an easy way for users to see what features and bug we are testing/fixing on the BETA branch of COBRA Show Creator. In the top right corner of CSC, there is a new button labeled “Switch to BETA”. This new button will bring up a popup with an explanation of what features and bugs are fixed currently on the BETA branch. On the left side is a list and explanation of any new features, while on the right is a list and explanation of any bugs that have been fixed. To switch to the BETA branch, simply click the “Go to BETA.COBRASHOWCREATOR” button in the top right of the popup.

STEP Event Improvements

We have implemented some major changes to how CSC handles STEP Events under the hood. This should bring performance increases and well as major stability and reliability improvements. Any issues experienced while working with a show that included STEP Events should all be resolved.

Cue Label Improvements

When printing Cue Labels, there is now the option to order the labels vertically rather than horizontally. The legacy version of CSC placed the labels out in the vertical format, while the new CSC defaults to the horizontal order. We also fixed an issue where if the firework name started with a number the rest of the firework name was removed and only left the first number.

Cue Table Improvements

There were some Cue Table improvements included in this update as well. Some of these improvements include a fix for an issue where when inserting a cue above or below the table would scroll to the top. Improvements for how long it takes the table to load as well as scrolling while playing the show.

BETA Testing

The following features are currently being BETA tested at beta.cobrashowcreator.com. Play around with them and give us your feedback.

Added the ability to hide the waveform from the UI. This allows users with smaller screens to have more room for the Cue Table. This setting can be enabled in Preferences under the Waveform tab.
We are testing the ability for CSC to remove Timecode from audio files while scripting. This will allow for easier scripting and more accurate waveform generation for users who are creating a Timecoded show. The setting is currently being tested at an account level, however, after testing it will be moved onto an individual audio file level.
Added the ability to import an exported CSC Cue Report. Users have requested the ability to export a show from CSC, massage the data using programs such as Excel, and be able to reimport back into CSC. This will now be possible by downloading the cue report of a show or using the Download button in the new My Shows Section.
Working on implementing the ability to shift cues that are in a STEP script. This is currently only possible on non-STEP shows. This feature is in the early stages of being tested. It is recommended to duplicate your show before using.
